Two new creations were produced in the Hungarian State Opera to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the 1956 revolution. Einojuhani Rautavaara’s Kaivos was composed in 1957 but was never produced, before today, because of its political content. It is a sombre story of a miner society that fights desperately for its freedom.
